| Markets........ |
Teradyne serves customers in the electronics
industry with comprehensive capabilities in test and inspection.
Teradyne test instruments and systems are used in commercial
environments and in military/aerospace applications where
reliability, time-to-market, and in-line process test
is key to success. The majority of our customers are in
the computer, contract manufacturing, telecom/networking,
and defense electronics industries. |
| Consumer Electronics........ |
Accelerated development cycles, cost
reductions, shorter product lives, and a rising demand
for smaller, more complex portable electronics are among
the critical challenges facing today’s high-volume
electronics manufacturing OEMs and electronics service
providers. In response to these challenges, and with
an eye to the future, Teradyne continues to develop
innovative hardware and software-based test and inspection
systems ranging from boundary-scan test software, and
on-board flash programming, to open architectected,
VXI and Windows™-based in-circuit and functional
test systems, and groundbreaking automated X-Ray inspection
systems.
Teradyne products are developed with a focus on industry
standards, ease of use, the ability to deploy and maintain
systems worldwide, and above all, optimal value and
performance. Teradyne’s advanced technology and
proven industry experience combine to keep our customers
at the top of their markets. |
| Military/Aerospace Electronics........
|
For over 30 years, Teradyne’s
Assembly Test Division has supplied electronic test technology
and solutions to the military and aerospace industries.
We enjoy a reputation as the leading supplier of commercial-off-the-shelf
(COTS) test equipment to military services and contractors,
serving customers with high-performance circuit-board
and box-level test systems, instrument subsystems, and
software tools that maximize test quality and minimize
development time. Major customers in this market include
Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman,
and the US Army, US Navy, and US Air Force. Teradyne’s
technology is prominent within DoD standard test platforms
such as the Navy’s CASS and RT-CASS, the Army’s
IFTE, and the Marines TETS systems. Our test systems
are deployed on Air Force bases around the world, supporting
programs such B-1B, B-2, C-17, F-15, ICBM and more.
Our test subsystems and systems are used in defense
contractor and commercial avionics OEM factories, testing
electronics deployed in the F-22, the F-35 Joint Strike
Fighter, and in Boeing Commercial Aircraft.
With the introduction of the M910 digital test instrument
in 1996, Teradyne began packaging subsets of our high-performance
L-series functional test systems into smaller, less-expensive
test instruments with industry-standard interfaces.
The subsystems can be easily integrated into in-house
test systems.
Teradyne digital test systems and instruments are used
in virtually all major US defense programs.
Teradyne's Digital Test Partner program has firmly
established Teradyne's leadership in the mil-aero market.
Among suppliers of military electronics, where high-performance
testing is the rule, LASAR is the defacto standard for
test program set (TPS) development. |
