| BOSTON,
MA -- May 5, 1997 -- Teradyne, Inc. today announced
receiving a new order for 20 M900 VXI digital test subsystems
from Lockheed Martin Information Systems (Huntsville,
AL). The 20 digital test subsystems will be used to
upgrade Lockheed Martin's GETS-1000 line of automatic
test systems. The M900 configuration for the GETS program
has 256 50-MHz dynamic digital test channels packaged
in an industry-standard VXI-D chassis.
The $5+ million contract includes an option to purchase
an additional 25 units within three years. It follows
an initial agreement and order announced in June, 1996,
against which nine M900 VXI systems have already been
procured. The M900s will go into GETS depot test systems
that support Patriot and Hawk missiles at FMS (Foreign
Military Sales) and US Army locations.
"The GETS-1000B1 with Teradyne's M900 VXI digital
test subsystem has proven to be very attractive to our
customers who need to perform high-speed digital tests
concurrent with microwave and power supply testing,"
said Robert Gustafson, Patriot Program Manager for GETS
at Lockheed Martin. "The M900 Family has a digital
test architecture that's become a standard within the
DoD. Because it is VXI, it has been easy to integrate
into GETS, and we expect to take advantage of this in
future versions of the GETS system."
Boston-based Teradyne, Inc. is the world's largest
