| Lockheed Martin will upgrade the
GETS-1000B Patriot Missile Depot Tester with Teradyne's
50-Mhz M900.
Boston, Mass.-- June 11,
1996 -- Lockheed Martin Information Systems (Huntsville,
AL) has selected Teradyne's M900 VXI digital subsystem
to upgrade the test and diagnostic capabilities of its
GETS-1000 line of automatic test systems. The GETS-1000B
is used by the US Army's Patriot Missile System as its
standard depot tester and is in use at Letterkenny Army
Depot and the depots of Germany, the Netherlands, Japan,
and other countries. In addition to its use as a Patriot
tester, the GETS-1000B is also used by some foreign
depots to test Hawk III missile system components and
other weapons systems components.
"When we needed to increase the digital capability
of the GETS to handle the upgrades to the Patriot Missile
System, Teradyne's M900 VXI subsystem provided the advanced
dynamic digital capability, links to LASAR test program
development software, and standard interfaces for easy
system integration we were looking for," says Robert
Gustafson, Patriot Program Manager for the GETS at Lockheed
Martin. "With this upgrade, the GETS-1000B1 will
be able to perform high-speed digital tests concurrent
with microwave and power supply testing to meet our
customers' latest missile test requirements."
Lockheed Martin has placed an order with Teradyne valued
at $2M for six M900 subsystems and two test program
development stations, with options to purchase additional
equipment at a later date. The M900 subsystem will include
256 50-MHz dynamic digital test channels packaged in
an industry-standard VXI-D chassis. The test program
development stations include Teradyne's LASAR Version
6 simulation software, which was used to develop test
program sets (TPSs) for the original digital subsystem
in the GETS.
The first upgraded GETS-1000B1 system will be integrated
by Lockheed Martin in the United States and used to
develop test program sets. Additional systems will be
delivered to Letterkenny Army Depot and Patriot missile
depots in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia early in 1997.
Boston-based Teradyne, Inc. is a leading manufacturer
of automatic test equipment and connection systems.
The company's Assembly Test Group in Boston is the world's
leading supplier of commercial-off-the-shelf test equipment
for military electronics.
