| A low-cost solution for functional
and application-specific test requirements
First mixed signal subsystem on a card for high-density
VXI-C sized functional test
ANAHEIM, CAMUNICH, GERMANY
- September 19November 21, 2000 - Teradyne, Inc.
(NYSE:TER) announced the new Spectrum 8911/8912 Functional
Test Platform, designed with industry-standard VXI hardware
and Windows NT software for specific applications such
as ADSL, POTS, Blue Tooth and high-speed Flash programming.
The standards-based, open, modular architecture of the
Spectrum 8911/8912 reduces development time and provides
system configuration versatility to OEMs and Contract
Manufacturers. Announcement of the new Spectrum 8911/8912
Functional Test Platform was made here at Electronica,
the International Trade Fair for Components and Assemblies
in Electronics.
The Spectrum 8911/8912 Functional Test Platform can
be used as a single-platform solution for functional
board testing. , with optional in-circuit test capability,
The systems are also offered configured for specific
application testing such as xDSL modems, wireless broadband
applications, or Flash programming. The Spectrum 8911/8912
Functional Test Platform also provides optional in-circuit
test capability.
The hardware and software architecture of the Spectrum
platform aids in test program migration, system re-configuration,
and test strategy re-deployment. The standards-based
design consists of VXI plug&play and Windows™
NT for easy expansion as test demands change. The Spectrum
8911/8912 operating environment is TestStudio.
TestStudio is the industry's first Web-based ATE operating
environment for development, documentation, debug and
execution.
Spectrum 8911/8912 Configuration
The Spectrum 8911 provides one 12-slot VXI cage for
C-size and Spectrum instruments and one 19" rack
for adding IEEE 488 instruments or PXI backplane. The
Spectrum 8912 includes two 12-slot VXI cages for C-size
and Spectrum instruments.
Designed for Flexibility and Program Transportability
The Spectrum 8911/8812 is equipped with a high-performance
Virginia Panel 90 Series fixture interface for functional
signal routing and easy reconfiguration depending on
test requirements. The TestStudio operating environment
is designed to run any software developed with any modern
Application Development Environment (ADE). Spectrum
8911/8912 systems have an exceptionally quiet system
noise floor for better test repeatability, low signal
level measurements and program transportability.
Pricing and Availability
The Spectrum 8911/8912 Functional Test Platform is
currently shipping. Pricing for the Spectrum 8911 test
system starts at $59K and the Spectrum 8912 test system
starts at $75K in North America. Prices may vary outside
North America. The Spectrum 8911/8912 Functional Test
Platform is supported by Teradyne's worldwide customer
and product support.
The AI7-Series is the industry's first mixed signal
subsystem on a VXI card designed for real time signal
simulation at functional test. This innovative and highly
integrated analog testing subsystem architecture provides
tester per pin resources and matrix free test system
designs. With a VXI plug&play software driver and
hardware that is compliant with VXI interface standards,
AI7-Series instruments are easily integrated with other
instruments in VXI-based test systems.
The AI-710 is the first member of the AI7-Series family
of mixed signal test instruments. Every one of the 32
channels on the AI-710 Analog Test Instrument is a testing
sub-system in itself. Each channel consists of 6 independent
test resources that are simultaneously available, all
the time, providing stimulus and measurement capabilities.
Pricing and Availability
North American pricing for the AI7-Series starts at
$32,000. Product will begin shipping in the fourth quarter
of 2000.
