Teradyne Features Latest Technologies At Globaltronics
Advanced Systems Meet Needs of Asia Pacific Manufacturers

SINGAPORE--September 3, 2002--Teradyne's [NYSE: TER] Assembly Test Division, a global leader in electronics testing and production solutions, will showcase its leading electronics test solutions at Globaltronics, stand 5F34/5G16, with an opportunity for customers to test drive the latest Z1800 series system, the Z1888 Elite™, configured specifically for the Asia Pacific market. The Optima™ 7300 automated optical inspection system and the TestStation™ TS124 in-circuit test solution will also be featured at the show.

Z1888 Elite

The Z1888 Elite™ is a full-function, low-cost, in-circuit test system developed to combine steadfast reliability, a lower cost of ownership and proven performance with improvements to accelerate test times, reduce overall test costs, and improve product quality. The proven technology, architecture, and low operating cost of the Z1800-Series has been enhanced with the state-of-the-art PRISM-Z™ analog test sub-system and the MultiScan™ vectorless test toolset. Its small-footprint console makes the Z1888 especially suited to fast-paced, volume SMT production where high fault coverage of dense and complex VLSI boards is essential.

The Z1888 Elite offers all the Z1800-Series hallmarks: short turn-on-time, quick ECO implementation, and unparalleled reliability plus an open architecture, which makes on-site upgrading practical and affordable.

Optima 7300

The Optima 7300 is based on advanced, patented lighting, camera, software, and mechanics. The result is highly reliable, repeatable, and accurate optical inspection which can operate at the speed of the line and is ideal for in-line production. The Optima 7300 features a new, high-speed x-y positioning gantry and new image detection and acquisition architecture that complete the scan, diagnosis, and board handling cycle at greater than twice the speed or more of competing alternatives. The system is designed for very high-volume manufacturers who have extreme manufacturing cycle requirements, delivering PCB inspection rates of seven square inches per second while providing 100 percent coverage for solder and component defects.

TestStation TS124

Designed for high volume manufacturing lines that require fast throughput, Teradyne's GR TestStation TS 12X series is an all-real pin in-circuit test platform, providing full test resources for every node of a board. The GR TestStation TS124 is designed to meet the growing technological challenges for tighter voltage levels, accurate test voltages and more useable digital resources. Designed to accept any valid combination of current Teradyne driver/sensor pincards and optional hardware instruments, GR TestStation continues the GR228X tradition of offering complex combinational test.
