Features Safe, Accurate Testing of Low-Voltage Technologies
at Affordable Price
Teradyne's (NYSE: TER) Assembly Test Division, a global
leader in electronics testing and production solutions,
announced today at the APEX tradeshow in Anaheim, California,
the immediate availability of the TestStation LH(TM)
in-circuit test (ICT) system, a new lower-cost, small
footprint, feature scalable, version of Teradyne's popular,
award winning TestStation 12X(TM) product family.
The TestStation LH features the voltage accuracy and
backdrive current measurement embedded in Teradyne's
SafeTest(TM) protection technology to provide accurate,
reliable, and safe powered-up testing of today's new
low-voltage technologies, ensuring product quality and
reducing overall product costs. Its scalable feature
set allows customers to get superior TestStation(TM)
technology at a significantly reduced price.
"The TestStation LH system provides electronics
manufacturers with a very cost-effective, powerful and
flexible in-circuit test solution," said Roy McKenzie,
ICT product marketing manager at Teradyne. "It
is feature-scalable, can be configured with anywhere
from 256 to 4096 test pins, and is capable of safely
and accurately testing low voltage technologies. I can
say with all confidence that the TestStation LH system
is the best value for in-circuit test in the industry."

The TestStation LH in-circuit test system provides
electronics manufacturers with the same advanced test
capabilities of the TestStation product family in a
smaller footprint, lower priced version.
System Features:
- SafeTest protection technology - allows safe powered-up
testing of low-voltage devices
- Configurable from 256 to 4096 test pins - fits requirements
for most test applications
- 52 percent smaller than TestStation LX models -
saves valuable manufacturing space
- Feature scalable - perfect for today's needs, fully
upgradeable for future requirements
- Turn-key programming solutions - for ease of use
and accelerated time to production
- New design - for improved reliability
- Compatible with most GR228X(TM)/TestStation programs
and fixtures - preserves test investments
About SafeTest Protection Technology
SafeTest protection technology is founded on the combined
strengths of Teradyne's patented UltraPin(TM) digital
pin electronics and built-in TestStation software features.
This powerful combination of technologies permits accurate,
reliable, and safe powered-up testing of today's new
low-voltage technologies, ensuring product quality and
reducing overall costs. This is achieved through the
reduction of false failures that lead to unnecessary
rework and the elimination of voltage conditions that
could lead to field failures and their resulting warranty
and liability costs. SafeTest protection technology
features:
- The most accurate ICT driver/sensor pin in the
industry for safe test of low voltage technologies
- Closed loop driver capable of delivering accurate
programmed voltages even under backdriving and fault
conditions
- Backdrive current sensing identifies unreliable
and potentially harmful tests
- Programmable backdrive current and duration thresholds
allows programmer control of backdrive current and
duration
- Automatic driver verification that each pin achieves
its programmed threshold
- Per-pin programmable logic thresholds and timing
means no test compromises because of tester limitations
- Specialized digital controller quickly executes
test vectors to minimize backdrive duration
- Multi-level digital-isolation software prevents
dangerous voltage spikes
