13, 2003--Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) announced
that the U.S. Government's General Services Administration
(GSA) awarded its Assembly Test Division a five-year
contract on June 19. Teradyne's GSA contract is with
the Information Technology Group, GSA Group 70. The
contract number is GS-35F-0712N.
"An increasing number of our customers in the
Department of Defense require GSA schedules in order
to procure Automatic Test Systems," said Carl Rosenblatt,
military-aerospace business unit manager, Teradyne,
Assembly Test Division. "Teradyne obtained the
GSA contract in order to reduce the time, complexity,
and costs associated with procuring Teradyne test products
by our customers in the DoD."
Rosenblatt continued, "Advantages for our customers
include reduced acquisition costs, reduced paper work
to get orders placed, and reduced cycle time on order
placement. In addition, customers are assured of getting
most favored customer pricing."
The GSA contract currently covers the following Teradyne
Assembly Test Division products and services: Spectrum(TM)
9000-Series functional test systems, Ai7-Series(TM)
analog test instrument (ATI), M9-Series(TM) digital
test instrument (DTI), LASAR(TM) V6 test simulation
software, VICTORY(TM) boundary-scan test software, maintenance,
training, and engineering services. Teradyne will add
additional products to the contract in the future.
The Teradyne GSA contract includes pre-negotiated discounts,
Terms & Conditions, Small and Disadvantaged Subcontracting
Plan, Certifications, Shipping, and Warranty.
