GenRad Expands Optical Testing Capabilities; Adds Two Modules to GR Versa OT Product
 

WESTFORD, MA, -- May 23, 2001 -- GenRad, Inc., [NYSE: GEN] a global leader in electronics testing and production solutions, today announced that it was named to The Boston Globe 100 list of the best performing Massachusetts companies.

Compiled and published annually, the Globe 100 recognizes the top companies in the state, and includes some of the worldês leading electronics, biotech, financial and network technology firms. GenRad first appeared on the list in 1999, but was not included in 2000.

The Boston Globe, a New York Times Company newspaper, has published the list of leading companies for 13 years. This yearês results were developed by Compustat based on analysis of Securities and Exchange Commission filings, news service reports, and other government and corporate documents available to the public. Selection for the Globe 100 is based on financial data for four quarters ended Dec. 31, 2000 and for the same period in 1999.
