MANCHESTER, UK -- June 18, 2001 -- GenRad, Inc. [NYSE: GEN], today announced that its Diagnostic Solutions business unit was selected to supply electronic control module reprogramming equipment [ECM/PCM] to Honda Motor Company, Ltd., for distribution among Honda and Acura dealers in the US and Canada.

The ECM/PCM reprogramming devices will allow Honda to enhance software in vehicles that have programming capabilities.

The GenRad solutions system consists of hardware, embedded system software and PC software that will communicate with the vehicle system. A key feature of the solution is its open architecture, which will provide Honda with the flexibility to customise the software and add future enhancements.
