| Dear L320-Series
User:
The Teradyne L320-Series test system was first introduced in 1992. Over these past eleven years, it has been adopted by manufacturers worldwide supporting functional, in-circuit, and combinational test applications and continues to be an important part of their test strategies.
With the move to open standards based systems and the introduction of Teradyne’s next generation of test systems such as the Spectrum 9000-Series Functional Test System, L320-Series systems sales have been limited. As with any product in production for this length of time, reduced volume coupled with parts obsolescence issues has forced Teradyne to reexamine its product portfolio and production strategy. As a result, Teradyne will no longer accept orders for new L320-Series test systems after 1 December 2003.
Teradyne’s policy is to provide support for 7 years beyond the end of production in accordance with best commercial practices. In evidence of our commitment, Teradyne continues to provide support for some of the earliest L-Series models like the L-135 which have been out of production since the mid-1980s.
In order to assist customers with capacity expansion requirements, Teradyne offers a suite of products and services designed to preserve the investment in existing L320-Series test programs by migrating them to Teradyne’s next generation of test systems.
