Due to obsolescence issues that affect the tester PC and Philips board handler parts, Teradyne plans to discontinue the Accelerate Series models in 2004. Teradyne’s TestStation Rackmount testers will continue to be sold and are designed so that they can be integrated into a manufacturer’s board handler of choice. Also, Accelerate systems do not support the latest Windows XP PC model because communications between the tester and board handler is performed by PC ISA cards that are not supported by the Windows XP PC hardware. Accelerate testers must use older PC Controllers (P/N 361-591-00) and the Windows NT operating system.
