To our valued customers,
The PilotTM flying probe system was first introduced in 1998. Over these past five years, electronics manufacturers have adopted the Pilot flying probe system as a valuable test tool.
Pilot and Pilot LX were designed and are manufactured by Seica S.p.A with headquarters in Strambino, Italy. GenRad, and now Teradyne, have distributed the systems under the GenRad brand name. At this time, Teradyne would like to announce some changes in how Pilot and Pilot LX will be distributed and supported in the future.
Teradyne has decided to transition control of the distribution of this product back to the manufacturer. Seica will continue to develop and enhance these systems and actively promote them directly. This transition will occur during Q1 2003.
In keeping with our tradition of customer satisfaction, Teradyne will continue to supply service, spare parts, phone support, and on-site support for at least five years. Beyond this timeframe, Teradyne support will be on a best-effort basis.
Teradyne will be able to offer Software Support through SSA for a period of one year. After this period, new software releases, hardware enhancements, and new options will be available from Seica. In addition, there may also be used and demo systems available through Teradyne equipment brokerage.
We thank you for your interest in Pilot. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,
Product Manager
