The Versa product line is comprised of numerous platforms and options and has been in production for over 10 years. As high-tech products age and volumes decline, parts availability challenges emerge that diminish our ability to sustain the product line. As a consequence, Teradyne has discontinued the sale of these platforms and their associated hardware and software test options, effective July 30, 2006.
All hardware and software components associated with Versa are subject to this discontinuance including but not limited to the following:
- The generic Versa functional test platform,
- The Versa Cell Phone Test Solution
- The Versa Production Test Solution for Optical Communications Equipment
- All of the associated Versa PXI instrumentation
Teradyne will continue to supply service, spare parts (while they are available), telephone support, and on-site support for at the next five years for the Versa installed base of customers. Application support agreements and hardware support contracts will continue to be available during this five-year support period. Beyond this timeframe, Teradyne support will continue on a best-effort basis. Applications support will be provided on a best-effort basis and may include support by third-party companies comprising the Teradyne Support Network.
