Teradyne first introduced the Z18XX test system in 1987. Over these past 17 years, electronics manufacturers have adopted this system as a valuable test tool. Over 2600 units have been shipped over what has been the longest running period for a piece of production ATE.

However, due to architectural limitations, parts obsolescence, and declining demand, the platform has come to the end of a great run. Teradyne has decided to discontinue building new systems sometime later this year.

In conjunction with this decision, Teradyne is pleased to announce the “Z1800 Replacement Program”. The program is targeted to our loyal and valued Z18XX customers. This program will provide an outstanding opportunity to smoothly upgrade to our natural Z18XX replacement platform, the TestStation SE 8862.

In keeping with our tradition of customer satisfaction, Teradyne will continue to supply service, spare parts, phone support, and on-site support for at least five years after discontinuance. Beyond this timeframe, Teradyne support will be on a best-effort basis.

Teradyne will be able to offer the last available Software Release and support through the purchase of an Applications Support Agreement (ASA).

As a valued customer, we would also like to offer you the opportunity for last time buys of new Z1888 Elite systems. We are also pleased to offer continued availability of remanufactured systems through our factory reconditioned equipment channel.
