AWG2500 Waveform Generator
Testing Solutions for LAN and Mass Storage As LAN and PRML technologies advance, the requirements for generating test waveforms become more stringent. The AWG2500 for Tiger and Catalyst test systems is a unique, integrated arbitrary waveform generator providing high data rate and continuous bandwidth with high resolution. As test requirements advance, the typical 8-bit resolution found most high-speed analog waveform generators is not adequate for complex LAN waveforms (for example, 1000BaseT PAM5 waveforms) or for many of the lower frequency waveforms required for PRML devices. The AWG2500 provides a 2.5 GHz sample rate, 4 Meg sample memory, two differential outputs, and 10-bit resolution, and it can generate PRML waveforms to 1.4 Gbits and 1000BaseT waveforms requiring 10-bit resolution.
