Test Advantage Ltd. Selects Teradyne's Catalyst For Alba Centre Center for Excellence in SOC Testing in Europe to Utilize System to Provide Test Services, Development and Training

Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) today announced that Test Advantage Limited, a test technology services company headquartered at the Alba Centre campus in Livingston, Scotland, has purchased a Catalyst Test System to support its System-on-a-Chip (SOC) and Mixed-Signal device test development, pre-production and educational activities.

The Alba Centre, developed as a world-class research campus for SOC design and test technology and recognized as a center of excellence in SOC test, will have access to the Catalyst System for test training classes in support of academic research at the Institute for System Level Integration (ISLI).

Test Advantage Limited will use the Catalyst, installed at the facility during the first quarter of this year, to provide semiconductor test related services and facilities to both local UK and European companies testing telecom, datacom and automotive devices, in addition to offering both commercial training and educational resources. Test Advantage Limited will support mutual Teradyne-Test Advantage semiconductor industry customers with test program development, device characterization, pre-production testing and training services.

Fabrice Dechoux, President and CEO at Test Advantage said, "We selected the Catalyst as our first semiconductor test platform. It delivers the full, state-of-the-art test coverage required to test today's complex devices, as well as those in development, and offers the necessary advanced analog instrumentation for the future evolution of those devices test requirements. The Catalyst gives Test Advantage, and the educational facility at the Alba Centre, the test technology it needs to educate students and researchers on the complexities of testing emerging SOCs and Mixed-Signal devices."

"Teradyne is pleased that the Catalyst, with its wide range of instrumentation and rich set of IMAGE(TM) test development tools, will enable Test Advantage to support both the educational facility and our mutual customers in the semiconductor industry. The system easily meets the diverse requirements for program development, device characterization, pre-production testing, and training services," said Rick Bourne, Catalyst Product Manager. "The Catalyst is also the world's most popular SOC tester, in use by more IC manufacturers than any other system," he added.
