NORTH READING, Mass. – May 22, 2007 – Teradyne (NYSE:TER), a world leader in high efficiency, low-cost test, announced that Dialog Semiconductor, a leading European supplier of power management devices, selected the Teradyne FLEX(TM) Test System as the preferred platform for testing its entire power management device portfolio. FLEX will be used to test leading edge power management devices used in portable consumer end-product applications including cell phones and PDAs. The first FLEX test system was purchased for Dialog’s engineering facility located in Kirchheim/Teck, Germany.
“We selected the FLEX test system because of its broad suite of instrumentation and highly efficient multisite test architecture which offers us the high parallelism and fast test times we need to economically test our power management devices,” said Mohamed Djadoudi, director, Global Manufacturing, Dialog Semiconductor. “In addition, the wide acceptance and availability of FLEX Platform systems at subcontractor companies facilitates easy access to production capacity for product ramp and played a major role in our decision as Dialog Semiconductor now uses dedicated test subcontractors in Asia for its volume final test operation.”
“The FLEX Platform provides the perfect mix and density of digital and power instrumentation needed for testing today’s highly integrated power management devices,” said Charles Grapy, European field operations manager, Teradyne. “And the FLEX architecture delivers the high efficiency multisite test needed to achieve the best test economics. We are very pleased to have Dialog Semiconductor join a growing list of companies who have chosen FLEX as their test platform.“
