Signia Technologies Selects INTEGRA J750 and Catalyst Test Systems from Teradyne for Baseband and Bluetooth Production Testing BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 2001--Teradyne announced today that Signia Technologies (http://www.signiatech.com) has selected the INTEGRA J750 for testing baseband devices, as well as the Catalyst to test its Bluetooth(TM) wireless chips. Signia Technologies is a leading company in bringing Bluetooth solutions to market. Signia will use multiple J750 and Catalyst systems at their Taiwan contract fab and test companies. David Chung, VP of Operations, at Signia said, "Teradyne's platform enables us to take full advantage of Signia's on-chip test capabilities thereby giving Signia one of the lowest cost to test Bluetooth ICs in the market. Teradyne's extensive experience in Bluetooth testing and high level of service is superior. The J750 improves our overall throughput with its ability to test eight devices in parallel in a high volume production environment. Catalyst also proved its production worthiness and reduced cost of test with quad site testing on the wireless chip. We appreciate Teradyne's understanding of Signia's business and their support of our growing business requirements." Doug Elder, Teradyne Marketing Manager for the Integra Test Division, said, "The J750 is an ideal solution for Signia, delivering high parallel test capabilities at the best test economics. We expect Signia to experience significant improvements in production throughput for quicker time to market at a lower cost of test, as our other customers have realized with the J750." Jeff Schneider, Teradyne Marketing Manager for the Catalyst Family, said, "Companies like Signia are leading the industry with integrated designs such as their Ulysses(TM) family of Bluetooth devices. These devices require a high level of integration of RF and mixed-signal not found in conventional ATE. With Catalyst and MicroWAVE6000(TM) Signia will achieve full functional test, with throughput that gives them the lowest cost of test." About Signia's Ulysses(TM) Bluetooth(TM) Solutions Signia Technologies offers the Ulysses family of complete Bluetooth solutions that include the first 0.25um RFCMOS SBT5010 Radio IC, the versatile SBT3100 CMOS Baseband Controller IC, fully qualified protocol stacks, high performance antenna designs through partnerships with Antennas America, and ready-to-manufacture reference designs such as PCMCIA, CompactFlash, USB Dongle, and modules. About Catalyst Catalyst dominates the SOC market with test capabilities for DSL, wireless, microwave, and power management applications. With more than 4000 individual users worldwide, Catalyst's IMAGE(TM) programming system is the most widely used ATE software environment. Catalyst offers multi-site and concurrent block testing, providing the best test economics in the industry. When a cell call is placed, or a PC, printer, scanner, pager, or a DVD is utilized, Catalyst tested ICs make it happen. About the INTEGRA J750 The INTEGRA J750 delivers up to 1,024 digital channels in a zero footprint system entirely contained within a test head. Its high-throughput parallel testing capabilities help deliver 95% parallel test efficiency for up to 32 devices. The system offers a suite of options to address the variation of testing needs in the low-end and mid-range semiconductor markets, including the Converter Test Option, Memory Test Option, Redundancy Analysis, RFID and Mixed-Signal Option. The system also features IG-XL test software, the semiconductor ATE industry's first test development suite combining the power and performance of the latest PC technology and Windows NT operating system with the familiarity of standard Windows productivity tools, like Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic.
