Teradyne Partners with E&M Engineering to Provide J750 Test Programming Services to Fabless Market BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 2001--Teradyne's Integra Test Division announced today that E&M Engineering, based in Israel, is offering J750 test programming services to fabless companies in Israel. E&M Engineering represents Teradyne in Israel and specializes in test. E&M currently have a J750 installed at their facility, configured with several system options including the full set of analog instrumentation for high parallel mixed-signal testing. The J750's small footprint and high parallel test capabilities makes it ideal for the fabless and subcontractor test market. The J750 continues to demonstrate the best test economics for testing microcontrollers, smart cards, baseband mixed-signal, FPGAs, ASICS and PLD devices. Teradyne introduced the J750k, an expansion to the successful INTEGRA J750 family of test systems, in December 2000. It offers the lowest cost of test (an entry-level price of $99,000) for low-end semiconductor devices and was designed specifically to reduce the cost of test without compromising production efficiency, flexibility or reliability. To date, over 750 J750 test systems are installed worldwide. Frank Westerhoff, Product Manager for Teradyne's Integra Test Division, said, "J750 sales to the fabless/subcontractor market currently represent the fastest growing segment of our business. For fabless and subcon companies, the J750 offers a flexible test solution at an industry leading price per pin. Partnering with E&M provides us with an even greater advantage vs the competition. E&M has a dedicated team of highly qualified and experienced test engineers to develop test programs quickly on the J750, helping to reduce test time and bring products to market more efficiently." Reuben Schrift, Technical Manager at E&M, said, "Over the years, we have developed a high level of test engineering application skills. That, along with the relationship we have with Teradyne, puts us in a unique position to help the fabless companies in Israel with their test needs - close to their facilities." J750 Family of Test Systems The J750 delivers up to 1,024 digital channels in a zero footprint system entirely contained within a test head. Its high-throughput parallel testing capabilities help deliver 95% parallel test efficiency for up to 32 devices. The system offers a suite of options to address the variation of testing needs in the low-end and mid-range semiconductor markets, including the Converter Test Option, Memory Test Option, Mixed-Signal Option, Scan Test Option, RFID Option, Redundancy Analysis and APMU. Its small footprint and high parallel test throughput provide the most economical approach to testing complex VLSI devices with embedded memory and analog cells. The system also features IG-XL test software, the semiconductor ATE industry's first test development suite combining the power and performance of the latest PC technology and Windows NT operating system with the familiarity of standard Windows productivity tools, like Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic.
