Teradyne Receives Outstanding Supplier Award from Microchip Technology

BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 2001--Teradyne's Integra Test Division (ITD) announced today that Microchip Technology recognized them as an Outstanding Supplier for 2000. Microchip Technology, the first customer to receive a J750 test system in 1998, has purchased over 100 J750s from ITD for testing its 8-bit PICmicro(R) microcontrollers. Systems are in production at Microchip's facilities in Chandler, AZ and Bangkok, Thailand.

Teradyne was one of the five suppliers recognized by Microchip Technology for outstanding performance in quality, reliability and service for 2000 (see Microchip Technology Press release dated 5/16/01). Suppliers were evaluated on a number of criteria, including the critical nature and impact of contribution to Microchip's production, quality, service, technical support, response and on-time delivery history.

Marc Levine, Vice President and General Manager at Teradyne's Integra Test Division, said, "It is an honor to accept this award on behalf of Teradyne's sales and support team, and the Integra Test Division. We appreciate the confidence they have shown in the J750 platform over the past three years and truly value their contributions to the product's development."

Ed Lindstrom, purchasing manager for Microchip Technology, said, "We are fortunate to have an excellent supplier base. Teradyne's commitment to delivering quality service and support with their J750 family of test systems continues to contribute to our success."

About the J750

The INTEGRA J750 delivers up to 1,024 digital channels in a zero footprint system entirely contained within a test head. Its high-throughput parallel testing capabilities help deliver 95% parallel test efficiency for up to 32 devices. The system offers a suite of options to address the variation of testing needs in the low-end and mid-range semiconductor markets, including the Converter Test Option, Memory Test Option, Mixed-Signal Option, Scan Test Option, RFID Option, Redundancy Analysis and APMU.

The system also features IG-XL test software, the semiconductor ATE industry's first test development suite combining the power and performance of the latest PC technology and Windows NT operating system with the familiarity of standard Windows productivity tools, like Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic. Its small footprint and high parallel test throughput provide the most economical approach to testing complex VLSI devices with embedded memory and analog cells.
