GuideTech Femto 2000 Brings High Performance Time Measurement Capability to the J750 Family of Test Systems SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 18, 2001--Teradyne announced today that Guide Technology's (GuideTech) Femto 2000 multi-channel precision timing test system is compatible with the J750 family of test systems. With GuideTech's Femto system, J750 mixed-signal customers can more accurately measure parameters like jitter, skew and rise times on up to eight channels in parallel. The Femto 2000 is based on patented Time Interval Analyzer (TIA) technology with built-in DSP for fast measurement throughput. Enabling picosecond timing measurements on multiple single-ended and differential channels in parallel, the Femto 2000 is designed to fill the gap in ATE performance enabling high speed, precision timing test in production. Rick Nohelty, product manager for Teradyne's Integra Test Division, said, "Femto 2000 is an excellent solution for our mixed-signal customers. With the GuideTech product, J750 customers can easily determine the quality of their device because of the decrease in guardbands to take more accurate production measurements. We are committed to providing the most cost-effective solutions for our customers to achieve the highest parallelism and test throughput, ultimately achieving higher yields for their mixed-signal devices." Jim Ward, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at GuideTech, said, "Our multi-channel Femto family of products is the most cost-effective, proven semiconductor ATE solution available today for fast precision timing tests in high volume manufacturing. We are confident that Teradyne's J750 customers will greatly benefit from using the Femto products, especially where signal integrity, propagation delay and skew verification are critical in production." J750 Family of Test Systems The J750 delivers up to 1,024 digital channels in a zero footprint system entirely contained within a test head. Its high-throughput parallel testing capabilities help deliver 95% parallel test efficiency for up to 32 devices. The system offers a suite of options to address the variation of testing needs in the low-end and mid-range semiconductor markets, including the Converter Test Option, Memory Test Option, Mixed-Signal Option, Scan Test Option, RFID Option, Redundancy Analysis and APMU. Its small footprint and high parallel test throughput provide the most economical approach to testing complex VLSI devices with embedded memory and analog cells. The system also features IG-XL test software, the semiconductor ATE industry's first test development suite combining the power and performance of the latest PC technology and Windows NT operating system with the familiarity of standard Windows productivity tools, like Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic. Pricing and Availability Teradyne J750 customers may contact GuideTech directly to purchase the Femto 2000 product. About GuideTech GuideTech, the leading innovator in high-performance time measurement instruments, provides semiconductor manufacturers with the solution they need to minimize timing-related component failure and economize testing in production. Based on patented Time Interval Analyzer (TIA) technology, the company's Femto family of multi-channel timing test systems accomplishes this by dramatically improving test throughput via fast measurement rates and increased parallelism, and by providing the critical, high-speed timing test coverage often lacking in ATE systems. Headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA and founded in 1988, the company is the first to deliver cost-effective, high-end timing measurement solutions that easily integrate onto any ATE platform.
