Teradyne Introduces New On-line Software Licensing Tool; IG-XL License Express Available to J750 Test System Customers

BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 2001--Teradyne introduced today a web-based software licensing tool called IG-XL License Express. IG-XL License Express is an interactive software licensing tool that allows J750 customers to view their licensing rights and generate new licenses, all on-line and in real time. The tool is available to software license coordinators who are responsible for obtaining and distributing licenses for J750 test systems and off-line computers. Software coordinators must register on-line to get direct access to a secure, password-protected web site, which can be found in the J750 product support site at http://www.teradyne.com/integra/support.

IG-XL License Express was designed to automate the software licensing process which until now has been a manual procedure. Doug Elder, Teradyne's J750 Worldwide Marketing and Support Manager, said, "We developed a software licensing solution to empower our customers to manage the process themselves. The web allows us to provide service to customers in real-time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I am thrilled to provide customers with yet another tool to help maximize the productivity of their J750 test systems. With IG-XL License Express, we provide customers with an advantage for managing software licenses versus our competition."

IG-XL License Express provides users with the ability to generate licenses for test system upgrades, software version upgrades and new off-line licenses. Customers can also view or change the host ID and download existing software licenses. In addition, J750 test system customers can create temporary licenses to examine options before they buy or to resolve software emergencies.

Dennis Keogh, IG-XL product manager, said, "We allowed several customers to preview IG-XL License Express before going live today. They provided us with very positive feedback on the ease of use of the environment and accessibility of information, as well as identified areas of improvements that we plan to incorporate in future releases. Some customers are already using the database. It's truly a unique customer experience."
