Shanghai Hua Hong Chooses Teradyne's Integra J750 for Smartcard Test

SHANGHAI, China--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 2002--Teradyne (NYSE:TER) announced today that Shanghai Hua Hong Integrated Circuit Co. Ltd. has purchased the Integra J750 test system for contactless smartcard test. The Integra J750 with the Radio Frequency Identification Option (RFID) tests RFID interfaces integrated into VLSI devices like smartcards and I.D. tags. These devices are commonly found in public transportation, telephone, and health insurance cards, luggage tags, and a variety of other applications. Teradyne's RFID Option provides a complete, economical test solution for contactless and contacted smartcards.

"The high parallel test capability of the Integra J750 fits our requirements very well," said Mr. Zhang Nan Ping, Vice President of Shanghai Hua Hong Integrated Circuit Co. Ltd. "Yet the flexibility of the J750 tester means that we can add numerous options and change capability as our testing needs change. As Shanghai Huahong continues to meet the demands of the escalating semiconductor market in China, we look forward to a growing business relationship with Teradyne."

"As a market leader in the rapidly expanding smartcard market in China, Shanghai Hua Hong Integrated Circuit Co. Ltd. was looking for an highly effective, low-cost tester for smartcards," said Hock Chiang, Managing Director, Teradyne China Semiconductor Test Operations.
