Teradyne's J750 Chosen By Marvell As Wafer Sort Test Platform
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 14, 2004--Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE:TER) announced Marvell® has purchased multiple J750 test systems for wafer sort testing of their broad spectrum of VLSI devices. Marvell's selection was based on the J750's market leading test economics, when compared to competitive test systems, and ability to test the embedded memory during wafer sort. The initial J750 test systems are being installed in Marvell's new Taiwan facility for engineering and test development work. "Our selection of Teradyne for wafer sort testing of our devices was based on the economics that the J750 offered Marvell," said Albert Wu, Vice President of Marvell Operations. "In addition, the J750 enables Marvell to expand wafer sort test coverage, increasing quality and further reducing cost." "The combination of economics and capability of the J750 allowed us to offer Marvell a more cost effective solution and one with greater test coverage than competing alternatives," said Tony Mandia, General Manager of Teradyne's Data Storage and Communications Unit. "Teradyne has worked together with Marvell to continuously look for ways to reduce cost of test. Implementation of the J750 is the latest example of how Teradyne's breadth of products and services add value for our customers." Marvell's operations team is working with a large installed base of Teradyne J750 test systems. With the selection of J750, Marvell is utilizing an industry leading system that delivers the best test economics. Teradyne has shipped more than 1100 J750s worldwide.
