BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 2002--Teradyne (NYSE:TER) today announced that Korea-based Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has ordered the Tiger test system for baseband, DSP, and data communication devices.

Tiger delivers a flexible, high-throughput test solution for complex digital-intensive SOC devices used in consumer electronics. Samsung, a leading developer of far-reaching digital consumer technology creates next-generation chips that are on the leading edge in today's competitive semiconductor field.

Tiger instruments include broadband AC, gigabit clocks, and low jitter digital that cover device test for a wide range of frequencies, bandwidth, and performance. Historically, test engineers had to choose between either performance or bandwidth, because they could not test both without extensive applications effort. With Teradyne setting an analog performance standard with the new broadband AC (BBAC) instrument, Samsung's test engineers no longer need to choose.
