Efficiently bringing a new device to market involves pulling test content from design simulation and bench teams and then deploying it with minimal, if any, changes. Additionally, for applications which employ an SLT insertion, a flexible and efficient way to shift test content from UltraFLEXplus to SLT or vice versa based on business requirements is needed. For advanced digital devices that run within a Linux-based system in the end application, and use PCI Express ports as a primary means of communication, the UltraPort instrument with its Linux server provides a straightforward platform for porting and running mission mode tests. In this paper, the authors will describe a high-level solution for porting mission mode tests between simulation, the bench, the SLT tester, and the UltraPort server, with tips and lessons learned along the way. The topics addressed here are efficient test development, high performance compute test techniques, and test migration between UltraFLEXplus and SLT.
