The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is one of the largest student-governed organizations based in the United States and Teradyne is proud to be a member of its Board of Corporate Affiliates Partnership in 2022. The Board of Corporate Affiliates (BCA) is comprised of NSBE’s top industry partners who work strategically with the Society’s leadership to fulfill their mission “to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.” NSBE helps to build a competitive pipeline of diverse talent and transformative programs for scholars, emerging engineers, and professionals.
Founded in 1975, NSBE supports and promotes the aspirations of collegiate and pre-collegiate students, and professionals in engineering and technology. With over 600 chapters and more than 24,000 active members in the U.S. and abroad, NSBE has made a huge impact in its mission to bring more diversity to the engineering space. The organization has supported the genesis of hundreds of businesses, trained thousands of corporate leaders, graduated tens of thousands of engineers, and engaged hundreds of thousands of K-12 students in STEM education during its 47-year history, both nationally and abroad.
NSBE envisions a world in which engineering is an achievable career path in homes and communities of color, and where all Black students can envision a future as an engineer, if they so desire. We are proud supporters of the student NSBE chapters at UMass Lowell, WPI, and Wentworth, in addition to being on NSBE’s Board of Corporate Affiliates. Teradyne also donates to the organization on an annual basis. Teradyne values the partnership we have with NSBE and supports their mission to realize more diversity in the field of engineering.
