• In buildings with an operating fleet of mobile robots, emergency situations can occur, where it is desired to get the mobile robots evacuated from certain zones and moved into save parking locations, in order not to block escape routes for people or pathways for emergency vehicles.
• The patent covers a fleet management system, which upon an emergency alarm, automatically selects the nearest safe parking space and initiates an efficient evacuation route for each mobile robot within the evacuation zone.
• Safety is a very important competition parameter for systems managing large fleets of mobile robots.
