This patent describes the Halos SLT test platform system configuration. The Halos test system is a modular system architecture which has “pack” that contain “rows” that contain test sites. By configuring the system with these modular packs in a planar array, the system can support up to 384 test sites. The devices for test are delivered to the test sites using a horizontal gantry-style automation with up to 4 device placement units. Each device placement unit has independent position control in order to place the devices accurately in the test sockets in a parallel motion. The test sites are each supplied with liquid coolant to achieve high power heating and cooling to control the temperature of the device under test.

Business Impact
Modular system architectures like the one invented in this patent continue to be an effective way to scale system level testers to very high site counts.  The cooling system invented in this patent was leveraged in the first Titan-HP test site and taken further to address even higher power devices for the high-power-compute market.
