About
This project supports the next generation high current instrument from Eagle.  It allows testing of IGBT modules which are used to control high current between automotive batteries and the electric motors.  Previous instrument had a max current of a couple hundred amps.  This instrument can deliver 2000 amps which is being to be used by companies including such as Porsche and Tesla.  The first system is scheduled to Ship to Denso in January of 2022.  Future customers include: On Semi, IFX, Hyundai, STM, Bosch, Orange and Tuse systems.

Business Impact
We anticipate that this HCU2000 signal delivery innovation will provide a competitive differentiation for the ETS-88TH platform. The HCU2000 with this innovation will allow us to address the growing EV market (35.1% CAGR in this midterm) while taking advantage of the unparalleled COT advantage of the ETS-88TH for power module testing and maintain a small footprint by allowing up to two HCU2000s to be mounted in one mainframe rack. By providing this value to HCU2000 users, this will drive an additional $15M per year in revenue for Teradyne.
