Teradyne Robotics has announced the appointment of new leadership at its Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) companies, ensuring strong continuity and expertise as both organizations continue to drive the future of advanced automation.
Effective May 6, Jean-Pierre Hathout, currently President of Mobile Industrial Robots, will assume the role of President at Universal Robots. He succeeds Kim Povlsen, who is pursuing an external career opportunity after four transformative years leading Universal Robots.
Kevin Dumas, currently Vice President of Product at MiR, will succeed Hathout as President of Mobile Industrial Robots.
During Kim Povlsen’s tenure, Universal Robots launched a new generation of collaborative robots and AI-ready software, delivered advanced automation solutions and enhanced services to customers, and strengthened its world-leading ecosystem through strategic partnerships. His leadership helped solidify Universal Robots’ position as a global leader in collaborative automation.
“As we look to the future, we are excited to continue building on this momentum,” said Ujjwal Kumar, Group President, Teradyne Robotics. “Jean-Pierre brings a deep understanding of our industry, customers, and partners, combined with strong leadership experience and a passion for innovation. Similarly, Kevin has demonstrated exceptional strategic vision and operational expertise at MiR. Both leaders are ideally positioned to drive the next chapters of growth and innovation for Universal Robots and MiR.”

Jean-Pierre Hathout brings over two decades of global leadership experience in technology and manufacturing, including senior roles at Bosch and SIT Controls USA. His leadership at MiR over the past two years has strengthened the company’s global position and product portfolio.

Kevin Dumas, with a 13-year track record at Teradyne, combines technical depth with proven business acumen. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing MiR’s product portfolio and scaling its global operations.
“This is an exciting time for Teradyne Robotics, as Universal Robots and MiR are at the forefront of transformative technologies that are reshaping manufacturing and logistics,” said Kumar. “With Jean-Pierre and Kevin stepping into these leadership roles, we are confident in our ability to unlock the enormous potential of collaborative and autonomous mobile robotics and deliver great value to our customers worldwide.”
